Westroc Founders

Three founders one singular vision.

In 1998, after growing up in the world of real estate and branching out into luxury resorts, Scott Lyon set out to realize a vision for a different kind of hospitality company. He recruited key associates from Carefree Resorts, President & COO William J. Nassikas and CFO Peter Corpstein. Together they founded Westroc Hospitality, a company devoted to transforming unique properties into extraordinary destinations.

The founders of Westroc bring nearly a century of diverse hospitality experience, covering commercial, community, and golf course development, along with financial analysis and accounting. Their record of success features development and operation of critically acclaimed resorts The Boulders, Carmel Valley Ranch, The Peaks at Telluride, and Golden Door Spas.

Westroc’s first venture was the transformation of John Gardiner’s Tennis Ranch into Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa, a boutique hideaway nestled amid the spectacular vistas of Paradise Valley, one of the most affluent communities in the Phoenix area. Its many awards include Travel + Leisure Magazine’s “500 World’s Best Hotels,” “The Travel + Leisure 500,” and Conde Nast Travelers, “Reader’s Choice #1 Resort in the U.S.”.

Its next endeavor was breathing life into Downtown Scottsdale’s legendary Hotel Valley Ho. This 1950s landmark is now a hip spot that caters to locals and visitors alike, with featured venues ZuZu, VH Spa for Vitality + Health, The Tower Residences, and OH Pool Bar + Cabanas, named one of the “World’s Coolest Pools” by Travel + Leisure.

Westroc continues to pursue diverse opportunities to grow and expand its vision while maintaining the highest standards of service. We measure our success by creating memorable experiences one guest at a time, with our unique brand of ‘radical hospitality’.
